ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLUB LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION
ELC LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION

English Language Club (ELC) is organizing an ELC Logo Design Competition. All Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic students are invited to join the competition. In order to create a compelling and substantial visual identity of the ELC, this competition seeks a logo representing commitment, aspirations and creativity of the students in the Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic. For more information, please refer to the rules and conditions below.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

1. Eligibility

Participants may compete as individual or as a team.

2. Logo Design Features

a. The logo must contain the letters ELC or English Language Club and the word Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic.

b. Logo must not include any material (photograph, icon, symbol etc) that is copyright protected by any person or organisation/club/society

c. The use of colours should be not more than three colours.

d. Size of the designed ELC logo should be 15 cm X 15 cm.

e. Design the logo on a white A4 paper.

f. Logo can be an image in jpeg, gif or Tiff format. (Soft copy)

3. Judging Criteria

Judging will be carried out according to the following criteria:

Originality and Creativity of the design ( 50 % )

The written explanation of the use of colours that symbolized ELC ( 30 %)

Visual appeal reflecting commitment, aspirations and creativity of ELC members 20 % )

4. Prizes

The winning logo design will be awarded a cash prize of RM 100 and a certificate. A certificate of participation will also be given.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

Once the prize money is paid to the winner, the copyright and the ownership of the Intellectual Property Rights for the winning logo design will deem to be transferred to the ELC. The ELC reserves the right to publish the winning logo on its all ELC print or electronic communications (website, newsletter, T-shirts and official stationery).

6. Submissions

The Hard copy (white A4 paper) and the Soft copy of the ELC logo (using CD) should be submitted before 1 August 2010 to Madam Juliet Vun or Madam Chow. All entries should furnish the following details on the cover page:

7. Distribution of Prize Money

The prize money will be paid to the individual participant. In case of a team entry, the prize money will be given to the Team Leader and ELC will not be responsible for distribution of the prize money among the team members.

8. Final Decision

ELC reserves the right to accept or to reject any or all submissions that do not meet the requirements for participation and / or competition.
The decision of the ELC Logo Competition Judging Committee will be final and no appeal against the decision will be considered.

9. Agreement to Official Rules

By participating in the contest, participants agree to abide by the rules and conditions as established above, which can be amended or modified at any time by the ELC if necessary.
